The Comedy carpet

‘Comedy Carpet’ by British artist Gordon Young, on Blackpool’s promenade, is a giant map immortalising Britain’s favourite comedians and comic writers from the days of Music Hall to 21st century stand-ups.

The artwork took five years to compete and features catchphrases, jokes, sketches and is made up from over 160,000 letters individually cut from black and red granite and cobalt blue concrete.
