Ghost ship from Japanese tsunami spotted off Canada

A 150-foot long squid-fishing boat swept away more than a year ago, by the tsunami following a 9.0 earthquake in Japan, has been spotted 5,000 miles away, floating near British Columbia, Canada.

The boat is part of a giant debris field that was generated by the great tsunami, sweeping everything from houses to cars into the Pacific ocean.

It is estimated that the tsunami created more than 25 million tonnes of debris. Around 4 to 8 million tonnes of them were swept into the ocean.
