Morning Light Along Antarctica’s Gerlache Strait
It’s morning. The sun is still relatively low, and shadows are long and tinged blue (as are all shadows, thanks to scattered sunlight) in the early light. This stirring view is from a cruise ship traversing Gerlache Strait. Icebergs forming the foreground, and dotted with penguins, separate the two seagoing vessels. Photo taken on January 14, 2011.
