Elephant Face on Mars

A new photo taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, highlights terrain that looks like an elephant. Image credit NASA / JPL / Univ. of Arizona

A lava flow in Mars Elysium Planitia region takes on the appearance of an elephant in this picture captured on March 19 and released April 4. This flow may have occurred within the past 100 million year.
