Porsche shows off 918 Spyder hybrid

German sportscar manufacturer says that production of the 918 Spyder is set to commence at the end of 2013. Porsche has officially presented the first prototype of the hybrid 918 with a black-and-white livery scheme that pays homage to the 917 racers.

The 918 Spyder hybrid sports car will come with a 500 horsepower 4.0-liter V8 engine, two electric motors (more than 770 horsepower in total), 78 mpg fuel economy rating and an asking price of $845,000!
