Dame Zaha Hadids Dubai Financial Exchange building

Zaha Hadid was just awarded the title of “Dame” for her services in architecture. Hadid, who is the most notable female architect in the world, was also honored as first female recipient of the Pritzker Prize in 2004 and the winner of the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011.

Dubai Financial Exchange building articulated through a series of ‘petals’, is one of the characteristic work of Hadid.

The building is a powerful architectural statement, at the heart of the new waterfront business bay, that successfully accommodates both broker ‘shop fronts’ and a central trading floor area.
