AWARE2 the gigapixel camera
The ‘AWARE2‘ camera developed at Duke University, is able to take photos with up to one billion pixels of resolution. The gigapixel camera uses 98 sensors of 14 megapixels each, and is capable of detecting detail from as far as 1 kilometer away.
The experimental model shoots in black and white and weighs 100 pounds.
