People ride on Takabisha, Japan the world’s steepest roller coaster, with a free falling angle of 121 degrees, at a whooping top speed of 100mph (160 km/h). Takabisha stands 43m tall and is 1,000m in length and will open at the park on the foothills of Mt Fuji on July 16.

Noctilucent, or “night shining” clouds, the electric blue clouds, are showing up at ever more southerly latitudes, and astronomers aren’t sure why, according to NASA. In Poland, noctilucent clouds season is the time of young stork births. Thousands of storks (Ciconia ciconia) arrive in Polish each spring.
