Mercedes-Benz has created “Aero Trailer” a new aerodynamic trailer which permits to lower the wind resistance by almost 20% and lower the general gas efficiency of semitrailer tractors by 5%.
BMW adds Steam Engine to improve fuel efficiency
BMW has added a small steam turbine engine to a prototype 5 series in attempt to improve fuel efficiency. They have been able to increase the fuel efficiency of the vehicle by around 10 percent.

Conceptualized by designer Jiyun Seo, the concept car apparently utilizes the principles of origami. In theory, the design would have the surface of the car folded like an accordion that would bend and twist to allow maximum performance.
