The Amsterdam bridge V designed by Yaohua Wang Architecture, inspired by F117 jet fighter plane is made out of steel. It has a twisting structure and a very simple functionality.
It contains two different alleyways that run next to each other, one for pedestrians and the other for bicyclists.
Both alleyways meet at the central part of the bridge which functions as a shelter, and is a covered space, which makes it quite quieter than the speed existing outside of it.
The Amsterdam bridge V like the F117 jet fighter plane tries to achieve an association between structure and aesthetic. Its spiral form permits the bridge to span across the river therefore allowing the tectonics of different layers to interconnect with one another.
