Antarctic Archaeocetes

Scientists uncovers a fossilised jaw of an Antarctic Archaeocetes (artist’s rendition) at the La Meseta formation, near the Marambio Base in the Argentine-run area of the Antarctica. The Archaeocetes is thought to be an ancient relative of the modern-day whale, and this find is one of the oldest examples of this prehistoric creature to be uncovered.
