BMW will debut its i8 hybrid sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Just after the world premier of the i3, the i8 is the second vehicle with “i” initiative from the automaker.

The production car will use a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels, among with an electric motor driving the front wheels, offering a combined output of approximately 393 horsepower.
The i8 should be able from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100kmh) in just under five seconds, and is also expected to be very light.
