Designer Thomas Larsen Roed has come with this idea to be implemented some day with a vehicle concept dubbed the “Chase 2053”, which runs on both land and air.
“Materials include a core grown core from mycelium, a process that does not require advanced facilities. This core is then dynamically skinned with carbon nanotubes, providing extreme strengths in the preferred directions. The skin is a combination of stretch materials and polycarbonate. Summed up, the light weight vehicle is easy to produce because of the low need of fixed tools.”
