We may finally learn where the trash contributing to the garbage patches littering the world’s oceans are coming from.
A new study written by scientists from the University of New South Wales and published in the journal Chaos tracked ocean surface currents and came to some surprising results. Not only can countries far away from any given garbage patch be contributing to it, but the borders of the world’s oceans, aren’t exactly as they are portrayed on traditional maps.
