Designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built in 1898, the P1 boasted a top speed of 22 mph on a compact electric drive weighing 286 pounds.

The power of the First Porsche was demonstrated over a year later, when it finished in first place at the 1899 Motor Vehicle Exhibition in Berlin and 18 minutes ahead of the next competitor. The P1 was found in an old shed in Austria where it had been sitting for over 100 years and will be on display at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany starting January 31.
