The Gigantic fish sculptures in Botafogo Beach in Rio, is an installation made from plastic bottles!! We don’t know whether the influence is from Jannis Kounellis, the pioneer of arte povera in 1960’s, or Arman the french painter who started using objects to creat “accumulations”, or even Cezar the artist who used to compress such items, the end result is very impressive giving the fish a shimmer day and night.

Botafongo beach is within Guanabara bay and in front of Sugerloaf mountain. Tourists going up the mountain with the cable car, have a very good view of the sculpture!!
