Arizona-based Latitude Engineering is developing the Hybrid Quadrotor a new concept in VTOL flight for drones, that doesn’t need a runway, but can fly long distance missions. Image © Latitude Engineering
The Hybrid Quadrotor is specially designed to have the best of both, the traditional plane’s speed and long range, and to take off and land vertically.
It looks like a traditional drone with additional four blades mounted on top.
The unmanned Quadrotor is expected to come with a price from $25,000 up to $55,000 for the larger model.
The US Navy soon will start testing it.
