The Illuminate Stand from designers Sang Hwa Lee and Jin Ho Kim is a conceptual lamp designed to both make light and tell the time. This lamp has a flat and flexible head designed to be rotated between the time-telling and light-providing functions of the lamp.
When the head of the Illuminate Stand is facing flat, the lamp is in light mode. A ring of soft light shoots out from the lamp. The light is not very wide or bright, making the lamp ideal for reading or for illuminating the contents of a nightstand or end table.
When the lamp’s head is turned 90 degrees it is in clock mode. The time is projected onto the wall from the Illuminate Stand’s head. The clock has an ultra-minimalist face with no numbers or even a seconds hand present.
