The Exosuit is the first of its kind, $600,000 atmospheric diving suit, capable of taking a human 1,000 feet underwater at surface pressure.
“The 6.5-feet-tall, 530-pound hard-metal suit will allow divers the dexterity to perform tasks such as imaging marine animals in their natural habitat with high-resolution underwater cameras while providing protection from the ocean’s pressure.”
The suit is on exhibit at the AMNH until March 5. The Stephen J. Barlow Bluewater Expedition, its maiden dive, is set for July of this year.
