Lotus F1Team Lotus are confident they have the car to secure regular points-scoring finishes in only their second year in F1.

In a case of one-upmanship, Team Lotus opted for an online launch to ensure they revealed their car ahead of Lotus Renault’s official first running of their challenger at Valencia’s Circuito Ricardo Tormo.

The two marques are heading to the high court at the end of March to determine who has the rights to use the Lotus name. The Lotus-sponsored Renault will run in gold and black livery, whilst the Team Lotus car that has Renault engines is again green and yellow.

As for their targets, Team Lotus have made no bones about the fact they intend to take a considerable stride forward. Running under the name Lotus Racing last season, they were the best of the F1 newcomers, finishing ahead of Hispania Racing and Virgin Racing, although none of the trio scored a point.
