A new yacht designed by Pierrejean Design Studios is taking green technology to the high seas. The LOU+LOU uses solar panels and a hybrid technology called “electrical motorization pools” to cruise completely silently up to 8 knots with a top speed of 25 knots.
The technology is still in the experimental stage and is under wraps for now, but we love the idea that a yacht designer would create their own green technology for a custom craft like this one.
The yacht comes with five expansive outdoor decks and the solar panels should be able to suck in the rays from the vast sky above which power the interior amenities of the ship. The hybrid propulsion engine that drives this super yacht is to ensure that the experience of boating highlights nature’s wonders and avoids practices that destroy them.
