In the film “2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968) by Stanley Kubrick, flight attendant while weightless, walks on Velcro-covered walls.
The experts consultants of the film felt that space travelers would need to be anchored to something in order to move around.
In our days in a spaceship, astronauts just float from one point to another and only in some cases there is the use of Velcro.
Expedition 30 flight engineers Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov (left) and Oleg Kononenko, are pictured in Zvezda Service Module transfer compartment as they prepare for a session of extravehicular activity (EVA) to continue outfitting the International Space Station.
