OOIIO Architecture, following the fire which destroyed the town church of Valer near Oslo, designed a building that would not only have a religious purpose, but will also function as a public square for the inhabitants.
The project combines two different functions, square and temple. The building’s roof generates various viewpoints to the different historical parts of Valer. Interestingly the main façade of the building is the roof, and it can be used for all Valer inhabitants as the representative space that they are missing.
The building’s main material is wood, which balances with the regional architecture. The inside is luminous and spacious.
