Frenchman Francois Gissy claimed a new land speed world record by reaching a peak speed of 285 km/h (177 mph) in just 6.7 seconds, making it the fastest anyone has ever ridden a bicycle. Watch the video…
“With the support of Hublot Genève, we had an appointment this Monday, October 7, 2013 on the airfield of Interlaken for a new record attempt bike speed rocket.”
The short track (790 meters usable) immediately added an additional challenge to the mission of the day.
A first test run at 175 km / h confirmed that attempt to exceed 263 km / h made May 19, 2013 will truly be very tricky.
It was limited but the key is to have served the purpose. The incredible speed of 285 km / h is reached in just 6.7 seconds! The quarter-mile starting order was covered in about 7.3 seconds!
Not bad for a bicycle, certainly highly doped!
