Ocean Garbage Patches

The amount of garbage littering the ocean seems to be disappearing, a new study suggests.

The reason for the disappearing trash, which largely consists of plastic, is unknown, but scientists speculate that it could be either sinking or breaking down into undetectable pieces.

Whatever the cause, the impact on the ocean creatures and our planets remains unclear.
