Saab has proposed a simple structure supporting a platform filled with cameras that capture a 360-degree image of the airport area.
The virtual version of the control tower, can be based anywhere and not necessarily near the airport.
“With the Remote Tower from Saab a new era in air traffic control has begun. For the first time there is a real possibility to combine a dynamic use of resources, information sharing and safety enhancement features at a preferred and safe location.”
