3D printing it’s faster, cheaper, more efficient. Now Rolls-Royce has decided to 3D print its airplane engine parts.

The 3D printing process will be easier, accurate and much faster for making more lightweight components.
Dr Henner Wapenhans, Rolls-Royce head of technology, said:
“3D printing opens up new possibilities, new design space.
Through the 3D printing process, you’re not constrained by having to get a tool to create a shape. You can create any shape you like.”
The company will be testing the parts and just after a few years will putting them into production.
