The Sukhoi T-50 Russia’s new stealth fighter jet, made its public debut at the MAKS-2011 air show near Moscow. The jet, also called the PAK FA, will enter service in 2014 or 2015.
The jet is being developed in partnership with India.
The aircraft itself is very advanced. It’s noticeably similar in construction to the F-22, relying heavily on composites for stealth, although it does sacrifice a little bit of this sneakiness for extra maneuverability.
The Russian military also announced it will use new MiG-35D multirole fighters as the equivalent of the U.S. F-35 fighter.
