Nissan announced the world’s first self-healing iPhone case, which can quickly repair itself when scratched.
University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials Inc in collaboration with Nissan developed the self-healing paint, the Scratch Shield (originally developed for Infinity vehicles) but is now being also used in the smartphone industry.
When a scratch occurs, the coating on the case undergoes a chemical reaction that fills it and brings it back to its original form.
