Project is launched to prevent robot world domination and to ensure Artificial Intelligence makes ethical decisions and can follow rules.
The £1.4 million project that will run until 2018 by Researchers at the Universities of Sheffield, Liverpool and the West of England, Bristol, aims ensure that AI robots meet industrial standards.
The project started following warnings from prominent scientists, prof. Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk, that AI is a threat to humanity and fears that humans may not be able to control them.

At a London event Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that: “humanity faces an uncertain future as technology learns to think for itself and adapt to its environment. Artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race.”
“We should be very careful about artificial intelligence. If I were to guess at what our biggest existential threat is, it’s probably that.
With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon. You know all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, and he’s like yeah he’s sure he can control the demon. Didn’t work out.”
