A new camera called Facedeals uses photos uploaded to Facebook to recognize people as they walk into a shop and then to be offered special deals based on your Like history.
The system, which has not been developed with Facebook, is relying on the preauthorization via your Facebook profile.
The cameras recognize your face when you pass by, then check you in at the location. Simultaneously, your smartphone notifies you of a customized deal based on your Like history.

Do people really think this is a good thing?
I am not sure if I like where all this is going but from a marketing point of view it is interesting! I guess you would have to accept first.
