The giant flying sculpture Skywhale has been in the making since their first creative conversations in 2010.
The Centenary of Canberra celebrates 100 years since, on 12 March 1913, Lady Denman, wife of then Governor General Lord Denman, stood upon the newly laid Foundation Stones and named the national capital Canberra.
Robyn Archer, Creative Director, Centenary of Canberra, said:
“The Centenary of Canberra is about re-imagining what Canberra is and can be. It is about realising its potential both as a city in its own right, and as a potent symbol of nationhood. And as much as we respect and acknowledge the noble history of its origins which we celebrate, it is every bit as much about looking to the next one hundred years.”
