Famous British designer Thomas Heatherwick just unveiled plans for a new art gallery at the V&A Waterfront museum in Cape Town.
The building created by hollowing out sections of a grain silo complex containing 42 concrete tubes, is dedicated to contemporary African art.
Thomas Heatherwick, explained:
“How do you turn 42 vertical concrete tubes into a place to experience contemporary culture? Our thoughts wrestled with the extraordinary physical facts of the building,”
The artwork project presented at the Design Indaba 2014 conference.
