Time Lapse – Earth, the beauty of our planet! All the sequences were taken by the astronauts on board the International Space Station (ISS). All footage has been color graded, denoised, deflickered, slowed down and stabilized by Bruce W. Berry Jr. “Thanks guys for making this available to the public for use!”
“Some interesting tidbits about the ISS. It orbits the planet about once every 90 mins and is about 350 Km/217 miles. The yellow/greenish line that you see over the earth is Airglow.”

At 45-50 seconds in you can see the earth’s curve and a good deal of the earth. At first I thought that it must just be the shape of the circular window but then the sun clearly sets behind the earth which means that we are indeed seeing the earth from a great distance out. The ISS would have to be way further out than 220 miles to get this shot, maybe like 5000 miles. Can they somehow go further out or maybe I am just missing something.
It also appears as though the space station was stationary and the Earth was rotating but then it stops for a moment before the sun sets. Just some things I noticed, would love to hear your thoughts! Enjoyable video though.
