Two stadiums for the occasion of 2012 UEFA European football championship, have been completed by Hamburg-based gmp Architekten. The ‘National stadium’ in Warsaw, Poland, and the ‘Olympic stadium’ in Kiev, Ukraine. National stadium, image credit Marcus Bredt

The stadium is constructed by prefabricated concrete parts and above this a steel wire net roof which consists of a mobile membrane sail that folds together above the pitch.
The exterior façade is covered with anodized expanded metal with the National colors of Poland.
