NASA has announced the crew for the Artemis III mission, with ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano serving as pilot.
ESA is also supplying its third European Service Module for the crewed test flight in Earth orbit. The module will play an important role in testing rendezvous and docking operations before future Moon landing missions.
Joining Luca on the mission are three NASA astronauts: Commander Randy Bresnik, and lander specialists Frank Rubio and Andre Douglas.

The crew will now begin intensive training on the Orion spacecraft and human landing systems, preparing for a series of key demonstrations that will help pave the way for future lunar landing missions.
