GlobalBuildingAtlas is a free dataset that shows building outlines, heights, and 3D models for the entire planet.
It’s the first open dataset to provide high-quality, consistent, and complete 2D and 3D building information for every individual building worldwide. To create it, we built machine-learning systems that extract building shapes and heights (called GBA.Height) from PlanetScope satellite images.

The team also used a quality-focused method to combine many existing open building datasets to produce even better building outlines, called GBA.Polygon. With over 2.75 billion buildings, GBA.Polygon is more than a billion buildings larger than any previous global database. GBA.Height also provides the most detailed and accurate global map of building heights available today.

This is an impressive initiative! The GlobalBuildingAtlas will surely enhance our understanding of urban environments.
That “quality-focused” note stood out to me more than the scale claim. You’re not just celebrating billions of footprints; you’re stressing the care taken to make the map trustworthy, which gives the whole project more
Very Awesome and helpful. It really helps me.
