A look inside the German factory that has built Porsche’s iconic 911 sports car for decades.

Every 911 begins life at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen plant on a production line that combines metalwork and automation.

Robotic arms shape and assemble steel and aluminum panels into the classic coupe form, while conveyor systems move the unfinished body through each step, including a protective anti-corrosion bath.

After painting and inspection, the process shifts toward hands-on work. Skilled technicians fit the interior, wiring, seats, glass, lights, and key structural parts. The final major step is the “marriage,” when the engine and drivetrain are carefully attached to the body, bringing the 911 one step closer to the road.
