At the borders of France and Switzerland lies CERN, humanity’s grandest scientific venture. Deep underground, there stretches a 27-kilometer loop beneath local communities. Within this loop, scientists have constructed a large, blue tunnel that one could crawl through. Inside this tunnel, they’ve installed two pipes kept colder and emptier than outer space.
