Astronomers discovered an interstellar object much bigger than Oumuamua just entered our Solar System.
An interstellar object, designated 3I/ATLAS, has entered our solar system, marking only the third such object ever discovered.
This visitor, likely a comet, is traveling at a high speed and is currently passing through the inner solar system, expected to make its closest approach to the Sun in October before heading back out into space. While it’s not a threat to Earth, scientists are excited to study it as it provides a rare opportunity to learn about objects from other star systems.
