In the time-lapse video, comet G3 ATLAS setting over a Chilean hill.

The comet itself doesn’t move much, but Earth’s rotation makes it look like it’s setting behind a hill.

The footage of Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) was taken with a regular camera on January 22 in Chile’s Araucanía Region by Gabriel Muñoz.

For weeks, this comet has dazzled the evening skies of the Southern Hemisphere, however, its core broke apart during its close approach to the Sun last month. Some of its scattered ice and rock fragments will keep orbiting the Sun, following a path similar to what the nucleus would have taken.
