Google will begin using the 5,600-mile, fastest undersea cable ever built, that is 10 million times faster than a modem.
Google’s undersea cable between the US and Japan, created by the team of five Asian telecom companies, goes live.
The $300 million underwater cable network, has 60Tbps (terabits per second) total capacity.
It runs through the Pacific Ocean from Oregon, US to Chiba and Mie, Japan.
The cable as it travels over 9,000km across the ocean floor, features every 60km a repeater to ‘re-energizes’ the light.
