Glid’s autonomous Glider road-rail vehicle begins testing on California’s Skunk Train, offering a new way to move freight.
This is the only patent-pending system that can transfer a fully loaded semi-trailer from the road to the rails, without using diesel or needing a driver.
Glid (pronounced ‘glide’) is designed to make roads safer and less crowded by moving as many trailers as possible onto rail tracks for most of their journey. It also helps cut down on trucking emissions.
