Google’s New AI Is Trying to Communicate with Dolphins

DolphinGemma is a language AI model created by Google to help scientists learn how to communicate with dolphins.

On National Dolphin Day, Google and researchers from Georgia Tech and the Wild Dolphin Project shared new progress on DolphinGemma.

This AI model is trained to understand the patterns in dolphin sounds and even create new, dolphin-like sound sequences. This work is a big step toward using AI to better connect with dolphins and understand the underwater world.
