Harnessing Gravity to lift Boats

The Falkirk Wheel sits between Edinburgh and Glasgow, in the southern parts of Scotland, it’s the world’s only rotating boat lift and its design defies gravity.

There’s some very clever design going on here — and some physics that goes all the way back to Archimedes in Ancient Greece.
