Milrem’s robotic Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System (THeMIS), is the first-of-its-kind modular hybrid Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV). Take a look at the video…
Unveiled at the Singapore Airshow 2016 this week by Estonian defense company Milrem, the THeMIS demonstrated its modular design.
Kuldar Vaarsi, CEO of Milrem, said:
“Unmanned systems will play a significant role in the development of military capabilities in future. Within the next ten years, we will see smart ground systems complementing the human troops during joint missions. We are excited to be in cooperation with ST Kinetics for THeMIS ADDER, and we’re sure that this universal UGV concept will effectively supplement defense capabilities on a battalion level.”
• Max. speed 50 km/h
• Base curb weight 700 kg and payload 700 kg
• Efficient work period 8h with fully charged batteries and topped up gas tank
• Length 2500mm, width 2000mm and height 600mm
• UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) is a vehicle that operates while in contact with the ground without an onboard human presence
• UGV can be used for many applications where it may be inconvenient, dangerous or impossible to have a human operator present
• Diesel-electric drive (can be used as fully electrical)
• Remote-operated (can be autonomous)
• Very compact and lightweight modular suspended track system
