Superwood is a new, high-performance material that could change how we build things.
It’s made from natural wood but re-engineered to be 50% stronger than steel by tensile strength, much lighter, and even better for the environment because it stores carbon.
Developed at the University of Maryland and now being brought to market by the startup InventWood, Superwood could soon compete with steel and concrete as a go-to material in construction.
