Northrop Grumman has revealed ‘Project Talon’, a new autonomous aircraft designed to fly alongside piloted fighter jets.

As the newest part of the company’s advanced autonomous lineup, Project Talon marks a major shift in air combat. It works as a smart, supportive partner during missions.

Built with highly flexible design features and modern modular manufacturing, Project Talon can be produced faster and adapted more easily for different missions.
Its role is to strengthen cooperation between crewed and uncrewed aircraft, boosting firepower, flexibility, and overall mission performance.

Project Talon pushes collaborative aircraft technology further, giving U.S. and international forces a stronger ability to operate in rapidly changing threat environments.

Northrop Grumman brings more than 500,000 autonomous test flight hours and seven decades of experience to this effort. With this announcement—following the earlier debut of Beacon—the company shows it is rapidly moving autonomy technology forward.
