Renault Filante Record 2025 is an electric concept car designed to push the limits of energy efficiency.
Equipped with an 87 kWh battery—the same as the Scenic E-Tech electric—it aims to set new benchmarks for low power consumption and extended range.
This single-seater features an ultra-streamlined design for maximum aerodynamics, measuring 5.12 meters long, 1.19 meters tall, and weighing just 1,000 kg. A true rolling laboratory, it tests cutting-edge materials and technologies, including low-friction tires, steer-by-wire, and brake-by-wire systems.
Inspired by Renault’s historic record-breakers—the 1925 40 CV des Records and the 1956 Étoile Filante—the Filante Record 2025 will be unveiled at the Rétromobile show in Paris (February 5-9, 2025) before attempting a new efficiency record later in the year.
Sandeep Bhambra, Director of Advanced Design, Renault and Ampere, said:
“We designed this vehicle as a sculpture in motion. Inspired by fighter planes and the speed records of the nineteenth century, it reflects both performance and timeless elegance. Every inch of the surface was crafted to capture the light and showcase the body lines, which appear to melt into the air. The blue windows and color palette further underline this light and airy impression. The design as a whole seeks to convey an impression of flow and lightness.”
