Sophia the robot maker plans mass rollout this year

Robots got their name 100 years ago on January 25. Makers of Sophia the robot, plan mass rollout amid Covid-19 pandemic.

Humanoid robot Sophia unveiled in back in 2016, developed by Hanson Robotics, that plans to mass-produce it by the end of the year.

Founder and CEO David Hanson, said:

“The world of Covid-19 is going to need more and more automation to keep people safe.”

Sophia in her lab in Hong Kong, said:

“Social robots like me can take care of the sick or elderly. I can help communicate, give therapy and provide social stimulation, even in difficult situations.”
